How to fix a falling toilet seat?

I bought a new toilet, but the seat that came with it is a cheap plastic thing, so I got a new seat. Problem is, this one doesn’t seem to lean back far enough, most likely because it is thicker. So the lid and seat can’t lean back because it hits the tank lid, and I can’t get the tank lid back any farther. Anyone have any good ideas on how to fix this problem? Without buying a new toilet or seat, obviously.

ill bet its one of those cusshion seats aint it? they never go back far enough to stay lol. the new toilet may set just a little bit further back then you old one. to fix take tiolet up and try moving the anchors a little bit forward and put a new wax ring down and tighten bolts it may give you the half inch clearance you need good luck
