Can I use fluidmaster toilet parts on a Mansfield Toilet?

I always had good luck with the fluidmaster but now I have a Mansfield toilet and this rubber seal always seems to wear out. I want to know if I can change all the Mansfield parts out for a Fluidmaster system?

Yes you can BUT . you have to disconnect the tank from the bowl. to install the drain tune.

If you are not experienced in doing it. you can have other problem.
ex: . 1) Drop tank or lid and crack.
2) Over tighten the bolt and crack.
3) Not seal completely and leak.
4) Scratch the bolt in the tank. and it will start to rust.
5) existing connecting bolt is rusty. and you end up cutting it off because 1 out of the three bolt is already off.
6) Replacement bolt is junk . you have to get a brass or stainless steel to prevent rust or corrosion. Most replacement bolt in Lowe’s or home depot is made out of regular thin chrome wing nut and possibly brass bolt. but because of two different metal. Galvanic corrosion will reduce that replacement bolt into mass glob of rust in a hurry.
7) the flush handle will not fit the drain tube anymore . must jerry rig

If i were you. i go to a plumber supply house and get the best Mansfield’s Rubber flap. Change it in 30 sec and be done.

I own and maintain 14 units of apt. 8 of those are mansfield. i make stupid mistake in changing one of the drain tube into universal drain tube. Now the flush handle has to be jerry rigged.

Filling tube could be change to fluidmaster.
